Jerell's Legacy
Remembering Jerell White
Jerell White was a beloved son, family member, friend, and college student whose life touched so many people. Known for his sweet spirit, contagious sense of humor, and genuine love for those around him, Jerell brought joy wherever he went. He loved riding go-karts, fishing, spending time with his family, and simply enjoying life with the people he loved most.
In July 2017, what should have been a time of celebration became an unimaginable tragedy. Following a Fourth of July celebration, Jerell was reported missing. As the days passed without answers, his family, friends, members of the Lancaster community, local news outlets, and countless others came together with one shared hope—to bring Jerell home.
For nearly a week, his loved ones searched, prayed, shared his story, and held onto hope. Tragically, Jerell was later found deceased in a pond near the area in Lancaster, South Carolina. The full circumstances surrounding what happened remain unknown, leaving his family with a loss and questions that no family should ever have to carry.
Although Jerell's life ended far too soon, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the impact he made will never be forgotten. He is deeply loved and tremendously missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose life was touched by his presence.
The Jerell White Foundation was created as his family's way of carrying his name, his memory, and his legacy forward. Through this foundation, the family hopes that something meaningful can continue to grow from the life Jerell lived—a life filled with laughter, family, love, and promise.
Jerell's story does not end with the tragedy of how his life was lost. His legacy lives on through the people who love him, the lives touched in his name, and the work being done to make sure he is always remembered.
